Frequently asked questions

Important questions. Simple answers.

What is the Tire Hazard Protection benefit and how does it help DriveClub members?

DriveClub's Tire Hazard Protection benefit covers damage to your tires caused by road debris. DriveClub will pay you up to $65 per occurrence for each tire in the event that your tires incur damage from a road hazard — meaning either debris on the road surface or certain adverse road surface conditions.

What counts as a qualifying road hazard?

Qualifying road hazards include debris on the road surface — such as rocks, nails, glass, wood, tree limbs or branches — as well as certain road surface conditions, such as potholes, cracks, or breaks. Normal wear and tear does not qualify.

How much does DriveClub reimburse per tire?

DriveClub will reimburse up to $65 per qualifying tire replacement due to a road hazard, up to four tires per membership year.

Do I need pre-approval before replacing a tire?

Yes, you must contact our customer care team prior to any tire repair or replacement using the toll-free hotline. To find it, log in to your DriveClub member account and check your member dashboard.

Can I use any tire shop?

Yes, tire repair or replacement can be done by any licensed tire shop.

What if my tire was damaged through normal wear?

Tire damage caused by normal wear and tear does not qualify for reimbursement. The damage must be caused by a road hazard — either surface debris or adverse road surface conditions.

How many tires are covered per year?

Up to four tires per membership year are eligible for reimbursement.

Which DriveClub membership plan includes the Tire Hazard Protection benefit?

The Tire Hazard Protection benefit is included in the DriveClub Elite membership plan. The Essentials and Advantage plans do not include this benefit.
