What is the Paintless Dent Repair benefit and how does it help DriveClub members?
DriveClub Elite members can drive worry-free knowing this benefit helps to remove common dings and dents. Paintless dent repair (PDR) is a process developed by automobile manufacturing production teams to permanently remove door dings and minor dents without harming a vehicle's factory finish.
How does paintless dent repair work?
Paintless dent repair, or PDR, uses specialized hand tools to gently push dented metal back to its original form. It's a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to traditional dent repair — preserving the vehicle's original paint and potentially maintaining or even increasing its resale value.
What kinds of dents are covered by the Paintless Dent Repair benefit?
Repairable areas are defined as and confined to exterior vertical body panels that can be repaired within the limits of PDR, inspected and approved by an authorized PDR technician. Generally speaking, dents from hail, door dings, and minor body panel impacts where the paint surface remains intact are ideal for PDR. The technique can't be used where paint has cracked or chipped or where the metal has creased sharply.
How much can the Paintless Dent Repair benefit save me?
The Paintless Dent Repair benefit can typically save you between $75 and $450 for a single dent, depending on its size, location, and severity.
Can a PDR technician come to my home or office?
Yes. Many certified PDR technicians offer mobile service and can come to your location.
Does PDR coverage include paint touch-up or body filler?
No. This benefit covers paintless dent repair only — a technique that removes dents without any paint work. Damage requiring paint, body filler, or sanding falls outside this benefit.
Which DriveClub membership plan includes the Paintless Dent Repair benefit?
The Paintless Dent Repair benefit is included in the DriveClub Elite membership plan. The Essentials and Advantage plans do not include this benefit.
