What members say
My car got hit on a Friday night in the middle of the state. The local auto shop couldn’t get me back on the road until late afternoon Saturday. DriveClub paid for my hotel for a night and covered my meals the whole time. I would have been out $400 otherwise.

Important questions. Simple answers.
How far from home do I need to be for the Emergency Travel Coverage benefit to apply?
This benefit provides just-in-case coverage if you're away from home when an accident occurs. You'll receive reimbursement for emergency expenses if your covered vehicle is disabled due to an accident 100 miles or more from the primary residence you listed with us, happening as a result of a collision with another vehicle or object. City-to-city trips, long commutes, and road trips typically qualify. Short local trips do not.
What counts as a qualifying breakdown?
The key factors are distance and disablement due to a collision. The Emergency Travel Coverage benefit applies if your covered vehicle is disabled due to an accident 100 miles or more from the primary residence you listed with us, happening as a result of a collision with another vehicle or object.
Do I need to call for DriveClub roadside assistance first?
While you may well decide to call for roadside assistance in the event your vehicle is disabled in a collision, that's not required in order to use your Emergency Travel Coverage benefit.
What types of lodging expenses are covered?
Coverage under this benefit includes alternative transportation, meals, and lodging — such as commercially booked hotel, motel, and inn accommodations — that are not planned or normal expenses for the member's trip. To be covered, expenses must be incurred within 72 hours of the vehicle disablement or fall within the member's $1,000 coverage limit, whichever is reached first.
Are meal and transportation expenses covered separately from lodging?
No, lodging, meals, and alternative transportation are all covered within the same timeline and expense limits. To be covered, expenses must be incurred within 72 hours of the vehicle disablement or fall within the member's $1,000 coverage limit, whichever is reached first. Any expense that falls outside these limits will be the responsibility of the member.
Can I use the Emergency Travel Coverage benefit if my car needs to stay at the shop for a week?
This benefit does not cover emergency expenses outside the timeline and expense limits specified. To be covered, expenses must be incurred within 72 hours of the vehicle disablement or up to the member's $1,000 coverage limit, whichever is reached first. Any expense that falls outside these limits will be the responsibility of the member.
Which DriveClub membership plan includes the Emergency Travel Coverage benefit?
The Emergency Travel Coverage benefit is included in all three DriveClub membership plans, starting with Essentials ($4.99/week) and also including Advantage ($6.99/week) and Elite ($14.99/week).
