When does the rental coverage begin?
For each occurrence, eligibility for reimbursement begins on the second day of your auto rental. This coverage does not apply if you're reimbursed by any insurance carrier.
What if the rental costs more than $35 per day?
DriveClub covers reimbursement of rental expenses up to $35 per day. If the rental agency charges more — for example, for a larger vehicle — you are responsible for the difference.
Do I need to use a specific rental agency?
No. This benefit can be used at any licensed auto rental agency and is available in all 50 states.
What happens if my car takes longer than 30 days to repair?
Your rental is covered for a maximum of 30 days per accident event. If repairs extend beyond 30 days, any further rental costs are your responsibility.
Can I use this benefit for a non-accident rental?
No. The 30-Day Car Rental benefit applies only while your vehicle is being repaired following an accident with another vehicle. It does not apply to vehicle repairs that are not the result of a covered accident, or rentals for vacations, business travel, or other personal use.
Do I need to notify DriveClub before I book the rental?
No. A DriveClub member making a car rental reimbursement claim should log in to their DriveClub account and notify us within 60 days of the incident.
